Description:
Rare rifle... Search this and the many gun sites for a Colt-Sharps rifle and you'll see what I mean by rare. Something around 500 were made... Of this very few were made in 7mm Remington magnum…Bbl length is 26". Scope mounts are included with it. The October 1972 Gun Digest featured the rifle on the cover and has an article therein that may shed light, as well as a five page article in the previous year’s Gun Digest of 1971. A while ago yes, but these articles are easily found online. My rifle is in great condition with two old and small blemishes in the metal…one on the underside near the stock and one higher near where barrel meets the stock. Small stuff!  Put out in the 1970s, the rifle was ahead of its time. Modern, single shot rifles had not yet come into big popularity and the cost of the Colt-Sharps at something several times more than the price of a Ruger #1 was a factor. Now a Colt-Sharps is a rare shootable collectible…when you can find one. You’ll find one occasionally in something like 22-250 caliber, good for shooting varmints and paper. But want a serious big game caliber in a rare rifle?? Here you are… and likely you’ll be the only hunter three states around that has one. Is my asking price of $2800 reasonable? Check the attached link for the Rock Island conducted 11 years ago. That Colt Sharps went for $4313. Another had one go for a thousand more! Now both had the original Leupold scope and case but…but thousands more?! I have one more link below of one that went at , rifle alone for $3738...but in that varmint shooter caliber of 22-250.  The return policy is three days, but let's get you totally informed beforehand so that when it arrives it is EXACTLY what you thought you were buying. It's also a non-firing return policy. You'll have to trust me that when it is loaded and when the trigger is squeezed, it'll fire as it should. In that area, I have only fired it with factory ammunition, getting groups of 1 1/2". I thought with the right reloads, I could get it closer to minute of angle as I have with other rifles. That was a "to do" that I never got to do... Shipping will be $60 insured in hard case to your FFL. Questions?  Rob Kornacki, US Army (Ret)
