The wood is spectacular with amazing checkering, Swiss butt, right hand cheek piece and ornate carved wooden trigger guard (see photos) the stock and forend are in good condition with no damage or chips. The metal finish is a mottled brown patina with some oxidation (see photos). The gun is 47" over all length with a 30" full octagon barrel (What I can see of the bore looks dark....I have not cleaned this gun). There is a adjustable rear sight (tang is cut for a removable peep sight) and a globe type front sight. The trigger is adjustable and a portion of the rear set trigger is missing (see photos), The lock function as it should including half cock however the nipple has been removed but the barrel has a good set of threads for a new nipple. The lock, tang, side plate and Swiss style butt plate have some nice engraving. The barrel is stamped A. Frost and 18?? (see photos). The trigger guard is carved in the Bavarian Black Forest style (see photos). The gun came with an adjustable, target style ram rod with a brass muzzle protector (see photos). At the sale they said it was a German gun and had been in a collection for a long time. I can not guarantee a gun this old will shoot however it appears, with a little freshening up, this gun could be back on the target range.
