This Colt is in the second run of two runs for pistols that were fitted for the stock. The barrel retains all of the original bluing. The bore is in very fine condition with sharp rifling and bright bore. The hammer has most of the original color cased finish intact. This pistol is one of the earliest to be fitted with the new style hammer. This pistol has no rust or pitting on the slide or frame. The slide has some blue loss on the sides and top by the back of the slide. The slide retains about 50% of the original finish. The frame retains 85% of the original finish. The grips are in very fine condition with sharp checkering. The nitre blued finish is very strong on the parts that were finished with this surface. The original magazine is in very fine condition with no damage or cracks. The action works very smoothly with a crisp trigger release. This is a very rare Colt that has the factory stock cut out! This Colt also has a very low production run of about 6100 pistols. This is a great pistol for the serious Colt collector of the 45 1911 pistols to have. This Colt is the Granddaddy of the 1911 Model and the first to use the 45 A.C.P. cartridge. Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details. Curio&Relic KLKE (1) F.
