Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are surely proud to offer this fine example of Winchester's most popular rimfire repeater, the model 1890. This was the first design of John Browning to be put into Winchester production, and eventually 849 thousand were produced. While most were workhorse guns, this rifle is decked out in very hard to find deluxe configuration. Made in the year of our Lord 1908, she is in good condition for being 113 years old. The original blue has silvered out on edges and carry points, the receiver drifting to a pleasant patina. There are light handling marks, likely from putting meat on the table. She is outfitted with a darling folding peep sight with a large disc. The standard sights are also present. The nicely figured checkered walnut stock fits the steel well. Matching special order assembly numbers are found on the tang, stock, and crescent butt plate. The bore of the 24 inch octagonal barrel is good, with plenty of shine and distinct rifling. The action works well, and she is a takedown. The barrel address bears the correct last patent date of 1906, which is also the lowest production of the three address variations. The Winchester pistol grip cap bears the telltale engraved screw. These slender deluxe rifles have been steadily growing in value for decades. They often eclipse the values of their bigger centerfire brothers. We are happy to announce that this one is listed for less than any others currently on the market.
