Description:
This is a scarce 1844 dated Tryon 1841 Mississippi rifle. Good .54 bore with strong rifling. Mechanics are excellent. Tryon made 5000 rifles under contract. The metal and wood cleaned some time ago. All other markings except the lockplate were removed by either Confederates or maybe someone thought it was a gun stolen from the government???
