Description:
This is a beautiful all-original Colt Buntline Scout single-action revolver chambered in .22 Long Rifle manufactured in 1961.  This Buntline Scout features a 9.5" inch barrel and comes with it's original Colt factory wood-grain box, complete with an intact end-label and serial-numbered to the gun.  This beauty has obviously lived a very easy life and appears to have been used very, very little.  If it has had more than a cylinder or two fired thru it we would be surprised.  The factory blue finish on this revolver rates 98%, with only a few tiny little handling/storage marks on it as deductions.  As you can see from the pictures, you have to look very closely and carefully to find anything worthy of 2% of deductions.  The cylinder pin screw head shows a little marring in the slot but the rest of the screws appear unturned.  There is no drag-line to speak of around the cylinder, the front and rear grip straps are like new, and the bore is mirror-bright and pristine.  All six chambers of the cylinder are equally as clean and free from imperfections.  The polished sides of the hammer are still bright and show ony some extremely minor light staining, while both sides still show all of the original crossgrain in the metal indicating it has never been polished or cleaned since leaving the factory.  The original factory black checkered plastic grips are in excellent condition as well, with both sides free from any visible wear, damage, cracks, or repairs.  Both grip panels have crisp and clean checkering, and both sides are perfectly fit to the frame with no wiggle.  The action on this Colt is perfectly in-time and very smooth.  The hammer still has all three notches intact and the trigger breaks nicely with a light pull.  This Colt Buntline Scout is in 100% perfect working order and would no doubt function just as well today as the day it left the factory 59 plus years ago.  As mentioned before, this Scout comes complete with the original factory box, which is in good condition overall.  The edges of the box show some wear and two of the broken corners have been glued, but the woodgrain still looks good, as does the original gold factory end-label.  The box is factory serial numbered to the revolver on the bottom in black grease pencil, correct for this vintage.  If you have been looking for an investment-worthy Colt Buntline Scout for your collection here is one of the better examples we have had in several years.
