Description:
Sold to Gary in Georgia// Finished in May of 1924 by Carl Lewerentz of Stargard, in der Pommern. Stargard is an old town located very close to Neu Brandenburg, in an area formerly known as Pommerania and which became part of Poland in the post WW2 period. The shotgun bore is choked full and is in perfect condition, the rifle bore is very good but is a bit gray. The wood shows two old repairs in the forearm, on each side where it meets the reciever. The butt stock has very modern dimensions with a LOP of 14.25". DAC of 1,5" and DAH of 2.75". The head of the buttstock has some cracks forming due to its age and the wood drying out. A competent gunsmith can easily fix these. The gun has the modern style claw mount bases that the germans eventually settled on. New England Custom guns, and few others, can fit new rings for this so you can scope the gun using the removeable claw mounts.
The gun features very nice relief engraving for which Lewerentz was known for. Often times the engraving from this period was the less expensive flat style and didnt have any relief work. The cartridge trap is quite nice and well fitted. The very nice horn trigger gaurd has good figure and is intact, it is NOT cracked or chipped out. The barrel is 26" long and has a full length solid rib. The set trigger works perfectly. The gun has not been restored or reblued. Its original blue on the barrels has faded a bit. The gun is 97 years old and survived the second world war remarkably well. Have two boxes of 8x57JR ammo that will go with this gun

Cards add 3%. Must ship to an FFL. If you have any questions please let me know.
