These Harper Ferry M1803 Flintlock Rifles are getting much more difficult to find these days, Ive only been able to handle a few over the last couple years. This example is a pretty good one, the lockplate shows an 1817 date. The lock mechanism functions great and holds at first and second cock. The barrel measures 36" and is rifled, however the bore is .58. I believe it to be an arsenal done rifling. The barrel has no proof visible on the left side of the breech. The brown is still strong on the barrel also. The top jaw of the lock appears to be replaced. I am not certain if this is in original flint or if it was a very well done reconversion job. The frizzen shows a resurfacing so that could lead to being original flint however, I'm not certain so I'm putting a reconverted price tag on it. The brass appears to be untouched and shows a beautiful untouched patina. The stock is excellent condition also. Shipping cost will be $100 fully insured through UPS ground. I will not ship through USPS right now because of the issues they are having. More photographs are avilable upon request. Thank You!
