Description:
This listing is for a very rare iron frame, .38 Rimfire Bacon Navy revolver, 2nd Model (Only 325 were made in 1861). This model has the sliding cylinder that allows loading and unloading without removing the cylinder. S&W's infringement suit brought against Bacon Arms resulted in a number of these Navy Revolvers being marked made for S&W, along with S&W's patent date of April 5, 1855. This revolver is also one of those very rare revolvers. Flayderman has stated that revolvers that are seized by S&W (patent infringement) and marked made for S&W are worth a 20% premium.  This revolver will ship with a custom solid black walnut case with a 3" X 1 1/2" engraved, pre-ban ivory plaque inlaid on the case lid and: * a brass oiler, * African ebony and pre-ban ivory handled cleaning rod and screwdriver, and * a 21 round bullet block. This Bacon revolver can be found in the 2nd Edition of "The Civil War and the Firearms Trade", pages 197, 281 and 282. The case measures 15 1/4" X 7 1/2" X 4". The ammo in the bullet block is not included.
