Grips/Condition: Smooth walnut with Ruger “Black Eagle” medallions – Excellent, fit well, with only a few slight handling marks.
Front Sight: Fixed Blade
Rear Sight: Square-notched, adjustable for windage and elevation
Accessories, Extras: Includes an original Ruger box that lacks any sort of firearms identification label, number, etc. and Ruger shipping box that is for another firearm.
Bore: Bright with strong rifling
Additional Notes/Information: It is well known amongst Ruger collectors that William "Bill" Lett was a childhood friend of Bill Ruger and grip maker who supplied grips to Ruger. Serial #24 was his subscription number. These Hawkeye pistols are rare, with a limited production of 3,043 manufactured circa 1963-1964. Having been once owned by Bill Lett and the low serial number make this a unique example.
