Description:
While the breech block is marked "1884", in actuality this rifle is a model 1888 rifle. Differences between the two include, a re-designed ramrod bayonet and locking pieces, as well as a one piece trigger guard, a grooved trigger and a compartment in the butt. The serial number range for this rifle is between 500,00 to 565,000, this rifle is numbered 539587 with approximately 65,000 made. It was made between 1889-1893, this rifle was made in 1892. None

Metal Condition: "Fair-Good, Many spots of old corrosion and finish loss. What finish remains has turned to a patina. All stamps remain readable and many are still good.
Wood Condition: "Fair-Good, Many handling marks and large chip at the toe of the stock. Rack numbers and cartouche stamps remain good.
Bore Condition: "Fair, Dull with some pits in the rifling
