Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are extremely proud to offer this truly unique find in the world of Colt collecting. This second genny wheel gun is one variation that I never knew existed. While we love the second generation guns, they had the shortest run and perhaps the fewest variations. Colt brought back the SAA in 1956 when copies were flying off the shelves due to the dominance of Westerns on the big and small screens in America. While most were run of the mill, with the exception of the commemorative issues later on, this gun really stands out. It is a recreation of the early cavalry issue gun. It features a black powder frame, 7 1/2 inch barrel chambered in .45 long Colt, one piece flat finished walnut grip, and U.S. markings. Added details include early hammer knurling, beveled cylinder, bullseye ejector handle, and even the July two, seventy two patent date. Made in the year of our Lord 1958, it is hard to believe she is 63 years old. The condition is wonderful, with only the slightest handling marks, with a faint cylinder turn line. The blue is deep and rich, the vivid case color as only Colt can produce. She is housed in a Colt factory case, in good condition and made with finger joint corners. The icing on the cake is a Colt archives letter. Remember, the similar Peacemaker Centennial was 15 years in the future. I looked all through the Wilkerson book, and could find no Colt like this one. While all the generations of single actions are steadily gaining value, it is those hard to find variations that command the highest prices. This is the kind of complete package collectors dream of, a well documented scarce variation in near pristine condition. If you have been looking for the right Colt SAA to collect or for investment, but want something no one else has, then look no further.
