This Colt was produced in 1941. The pistol's serial number is 756246. This Colt has the correct marked blued 5 inch barrel. The bore is bright with sharp lands. There is no pitting of the bore. As stated, the slide is serial numbered to the frame. This slide has the serial number stamped behind the firing pin retaining plate. The grips are the correct original plastic grips for this Colt. The magazine is a correct blued war time magazine. This magazine has seen some service, but is in very fine condition. This Colt has all of the correct inspection stamps clearly marked on the pistol. The W.B. in a box is the correct inspector for this Colt. The slide locks up tight with no sloppyness. The action works smoothly with no issues. All of the parts are correct for the pistol's serial range and production time frame. The original finish would rate a 92% overall condition. The most finish loss is by holster wear and use. The pistol shows very little shooting wear. This is a fine condition early parkerized model 1911 A1 that has survived the war in original as issued condition. The kraft box that goes with this pistol is a high quality reproduction box that is great for storage! These early Colt's that have the matching serial numbered slide are really getting hard to find now. This Colt is a very fine example of these early war time Colts!
