Description:
This Smith & Wesson was produced in 1918. The pistol's serial number is 55192. It has the standard 5 1/2 inch barrel chambered for the 45 A.C.P. cartridge. This barrel is properly marked " United States Property". This revolver will shoot the 45 A.C.P. cartridge with or without the half moon clips as well as the 45 Auto Rim cartridge. The bore is in minty condition with sharp lands. The action is crisp with tight lock up. This pistol shows no sign of being fired. The recoil plate shows no wear or burn ring around the firing pin hole. The chambers are in minty condition. The original bluing would rate a strong 97% and better overall condition. The original wood grips are in fine condition with no chips or loss. This pistol also comes with an original Grafton & Knight  holster that is dated 1917. This holster is the Cavalry style with the butt forward position. The leather is in good condition with no rotted stiching or damage. the leather has some light surface cracking in places. This holster is in sound serviceable condition. This Smith & Wesson is a high condition very collectable military revolver with it's original holster! This pistol will certainly appeal to the military and Smith & Wesson collectors! These original World War One pistols in this high of condition are getting quite difficult to find today. Here is a prime example of these fine pistols! The ammunition and boxes are for display only and not for sale.
