Scarce 1st year production 2nd model "Squareback" triggerguard 1851 Colt Navy .36 caliber six-shot revolver, serial #2117 matching, including the barrel wedge, 1850 pre-Civil War production. Very fine+ 2nd model Colt Navy overall, metal overall is a dark-age patina. Cylinder scene rates .80% with clear "ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843" stamp. Barrel flats are sharp with clear and crisp one-line New York barrel address. Bore is very good with distinct rifling. Mechanics are tight. Untouched brass is aged with approximately .45% original silver finish remaining. Left side of frame stamped "COLTS PATENT", triggerguard "36 CAL". "Slim-Jim" grips are excellent. Here is your chance to owe a highly collectible scarce and early 1st year production Colt Navy, this gun would make an excellent addition to any collection. Very hard to find.
