Description:
Fine circa 1840's Pennsylvania/Kentucky Rifle, Tiger Maple, Great Brass Patchbox. Superb Looking 40 Cal.
This is a Pennsylvania Long Rifle, commonly called Kentucky Rifles.  This nice rifle has a nice tiger striped stock. 35 inch .40 caliber octagon barrel, double set triggers, silver front sight, full buckhorn rear sight and a beautiful brass patchbox. The bore does not show much if any rifling but is clear and functional. Double set triggers work perfectly as well as the single click lock. A nice vintage looking ramrod is held under the barrel with vintage brass ferrels.  There has been some nicely done restoration to this rifle to keep it functional and in keeping with the originality.

Rifles like this one were sold to settlers traveling west in covered wagons and were often called "wagon rifles".  Typically these rifles had larger calibers, such as .40 and above for the larger game encountered in the west.  This is a nice looking original piece of history that is still fully functional.  This is an authentic original antique Kentucky Rifle.

Shipping $40  3 day inspection for a refund of the purchase price if not happy, as long as returned undamaged.
