The gun was used during the Indian Wars, the Spanish -American War and the Philippine - American War. This carbine was manufactured in 1875 and remains in overall fine condition. Wood is solid with no cracks just a couple small use marks. Any trace of the cartouches has been removed when sanded and gun appears to have creosote added to stock. Blue on barrel remains excellent showing only light oxidation with wear at muzzle only. Trigger guard does show some rust. Bore and breech are bright with visible rifling. Function is excellent. It would be interesting to know the places this gun has been over the last 145 years!
