Description:
Savage model 99EG in 300 savage. Built in 1954,this rifle combines the classic features of the older 99s with some modern features that make it a great hunting rifle. The classic features include the brass cartridge counter,lever safety,case hardened lever,hand cut checkered walnut stock,schanbel forend,open sights,factory drilled for a tang sight,and a steel buttplate. The more modern features include factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts and an engine turned bolt body. The sling swivels were added aftermarket but are installed correctly. this rifle is in outstanding condition retaining 98%+ of the original blue and 99% of the original wood finish. The 24" barrel has a mint bore. I have killed a few deer with this rifle and can attest to its accuracy. It comes with a Leupold FX-III 6X scope installed with weaver bases and rings and a period correct leather sling. A super condition rifle for the collector and a great rifle for the hunter. C&R eligible.
