WINCHESTER 1894 38-55 120 year old custom with rate features
If you have ever wanted a gorgeous 38-55 antique Winchester with 5 special order features. Gun has been custom restored and is not extremely expensive – this is for you! It is ALL real factory Winchester. The scarce half round barrel feature – the VERY rare deluxe pistol grip that is uncheckered ( 99% of all factory fancy wood pistol grips were checkered) and that would have made it a deluxe model. The stock has had a repair during some time its life. Also has the button mag special order. Could have been 20 years ago or 120 years ago. It is hard to see exactly where it failed but probably at the wrist when dropped hard. Fancy wood is NOT near as strong as straight sawn standard grain wood. At that point perhaps the owner decided to repair the stock and add some extra pretty enhancements – like the nickel butt – forend and lever. Case color is expensive but attractive as well. Bore is not perfect but very good profiles very strong. No ‘bad’ spots. Somebody spent a lot of money. It is otherwise a beauty. The pictures tell the story. The gun shows no signs of wear or rust or abuse. Included is a collectable full box of limited edition nicked plated old 38-55 A bargain at 2000 BTW - I just found a Cody Sheet on this gun to confirm. the rare fsncy wood but UNCHECKERED pistog grip. .
