PROTOTYPE LIMITED PRODUCTION. S&W- pair of N frame 4" salesmans' samples for the "Springfield Armory Anniversary" gun produced for Lew Horton Distributors. First gun is a Model 629 Mountain Gun that was a salesmans sample in the regular serial number range. Taken off the shelf and used to show Lew Horton what S&W proposed to make. This is a one of a kind revolver - as it is the only .44 Magnum in this commemorative series, serial number BPF9420. We believe this gun was test fired only at the factory. The second gun is a Model 625-4 and is serial number SAC0000. This was the first pre-production sample gun completed to the finalized specs and submitted to Lew Horton for approval before producing the Commemorative series, which was to start at SAC0001. This package also includes the two stainless steel "Shop Sample" side plates with two different proposals for the sideplate engraving- only one of which was chosen for production. These are the only samples in existence. Letter of Authenticity for the 629 is included as well as advertisement from Horton Dist. regarding this limited production model. The original factory boxes for both revolvers are also included in the sale. $75 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC.
