Very Nice and very rare NWMP Winchester Model 1876 Carbine. This gun was featured in Gun Report Magizine June, 2000. Cody letter and RCMP letter verifing its history.
"Serial # 43978. This Carbine was one of 150 carbines originally ordered by the North West Mounted Police. On March 28, 1885 it was shipped to Winnipeg, Manitoba in case number 106 from New Haven, Connecticut. Upon arrival in Winnipeg, the entire shipment was transfered to Militia and Defence.
The carbine was returned to NWMP on Feb. 8, 1897. It was on charge to "C" Division (Battleford)." Report by D.J. Klancher Inspector RCMP-Retired
