"Val Forgett Presentation Factory engraved Uberti 1866 .38 Special Carbine. Beautiful engraved 1866 Uberti presented by Val Forgett, founder of Navy Arms, to Warren Page, the long-time editor of Field & Stream magazine. Mr. Page was a renowned hunter and outdoorsman, and this rifle comes with a letter written by Val Forgett stating that he gave the rifle as a gift in thanks for the help that Mr. Page gave him on his first African safari. The gun has fancy scroll engraving and is inscribed on the receiver “Presented to Warren Page by the Maker." The stock is of highly figured walnut. A neat and historical rifle, associated with two giants of the gun and shooting world.
