Description:
Remington 12-C Pump Rifle, caliber 22 Short, Long and Long Rifle, with standard features of 24" octagon barrel, 15-shot magazine, hammerless, open sights, plain walnut stock, half pistol grip butt stock and ribbed fore arm, classic tear drop shaped ejection port, take down frame, curved steel rifle butt plate, patent dates on top of barrel and "22 SHORT. LONG OR LONG RIFLE" caliber marking on left upper barrel flat, serial number 606467, made in 1923 per the "K P" date code on the barrel.
CONDITION: All metal surfaces are a mix of darker original blue and plum patina with some dings and marks. All markings are clear. Fore arm in good condition with only minor handling marks. Butt is sound with normal scratches and dings from using, retaining 80% of the original factory varnish. Bore has sharp rifling with no pitting or frost, just minor wear, an 8.5 of 10 and uncommon for an older 22 pump! Action is tight and does lock up correctly. Original open sights are present. Push button safety on trigger guard is present and functioning. Take down feature is tight with no wobble. Grades NRA Modern Very Good. With the Remington factory in Ilion (about 45 minutes from my house) permanently closed, these older Remington firearms are quickly going up in value and becoming collectors prizes, so don't miss out on this piece of American gun-making history!
