Description:
Browning Model 12, Grade 1, Limited Edition, 28-gauge pump shotgun.  Copied from the Winchester Model 12, this Browning has a 26-inch modified-choke barrel with a ventilated rib and 2 ¾-inch chamber.  The length of pull is 14 inches.  The drop at the comb is about 1¾ inches (measured from the line from the elevated rib) .  The drop at the heel is 2½ inches (also measured from the line from the elevated rib). Year of manufacture is 1990.  Other accessories include the original cardboard box with styrofoam inserts, original Owner’s Manual, original Safety brochure, and a Browning knives brochure, also originally supplied with the gun.

The barrel is labeled on the left side with “BROWNING MODEL 12 28 GAUGE – 2¾” SHELLS ONLY MOD.”.  The barrel is labeled on the right side with “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q.” (first line) and “MADE IN JAPAN” (second line).

The condition of the gun is 99 percent.  The owner says it has had about a thousand shells fired through it, but it does not look it.

The finish on metal and walnut wood is all original.  The barrel and elevated rib is 100 percent, with no marks or other blemishes.  There are a few marks on the magazine tube due to pumping action.  The receiver and trigger guard are 98 percent.  There are a couple very light and small scuffs on the right side of the receiver, practically not visible.  The left side has a couple light scuffs as well and some scratches at the front of the receiver where the receiver contacts the barrel, probably caused by contact with the slide-action-bar during assembly.  Care must be taken to ensure the action bar does not protrude out of the barrel assembly when attaching the barrel assembly to the receiver assembly.   The forearm is in excellent condition.  The left and right side are unblemished.  However, the bottom of the forearm has a few very small dents.  The checkering of the forearm is deep and crisp and unmarred.  The checkering on the pistol grip is also deep and crisp and unmarred.  The stock is in excellent condition.  There is one very small dent on the right side about a half inch behind the receiver, and another small dent on the belly of the stock, about three inches forward of the toe of the stock.  The left side and top of the stock are unblemished.  There is some scratching on toe of the butt plate; the rest of the butt plate is like new.  The butt plate is labeled “BROWNING”.

The buyer pays $45 for USPS Priority Mail and $19.35 for insurance, if desired.  If insurance is not desired, deduct $19.35.  Per the USPS , insurance is calculated as $9.55 for the first $600, plus $1.40 for each additional $100 (rounded up).

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash, and I don’t have to wait for them to clear.  However, I will accept a personal check, other type checks, or other type money orders, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; that includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  Keep in mind that USPS money orders are limited to $1,000, so this purchase will require two USPS money orders.  Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.

If you need to contact me, I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays.  I will return calls and emails Saturday evening.
