Description:
NEW SERVICE .45 COLT CALIBER REVOLVER WITH 5 1/2" BARREL, #148XXX, MADE 1918. This is a really nice example that has seen minimal use and retains most of the original bright Colt blue. The barrel shows just a little side wear and some minor freckling on the right side near the muzzle- probably from being in a holster. The barrel markings are sharp and clear with the last patent date of 1905. The front sight has not been altered. The cylinder shows minor edge wear only and the hammer back and trigger display nice original fire blue. There is some dulling/thinning of the blue on the back strap and less on the front strap as would be expected. Butt swivel is intact and the frame shows most of the blue with only minor edge wear. The front face of the cylinder and ejector stem still retain most of the blue indicating that this one was shot very little. Exc. grips fir perfectly and the action is exceptionally tight with bright bore. A really nice 103 year old big frame Colt in a classic caliber.
