Here is an extremely nice, all original and matching example of the famous Mauser C96 “Red 9” semi-automatic pistol. This is a complete rig that includes the excellent pistol (Serial #113329), matching original wood stock holster and leather holder and tool dated 1916.
There were only about 100k of these pistols made under the Prussian military contract of 1915. Unlike its civilian counterpart, the Prussian contract pistols were chambered in 9mm and had a distinctive notch on the top of the magazine feeder spring to accommodate the smaller round. The distinctive “Red 9” grips were marked by unit armorers to alert the pistol user that the pistol was chambered in 9mm, and not 7.63 x 25 in hopes of avoiding a damaged weapon.
This example maintains about 98% of its original finish, lacking only the usual wear from the wooden holster and is in excellent mechanical/operating condition. The holster is in excellent condition with no cracks and is numbered to the pistol. The bore is shiny with very pronounced rifling. The leather holder is missing some of the belt loop leather, but is repairable.
You will not fine an example of a military C96 much better than this one. Own the real deal. $4800. Also, ask if you need to see something not already displayed.
