Another fine “ESTATE” firearm offered by Dust 2 Dollars. We offer you a Ruger M77 Original Flat Bolt Tang Safety Model Chambered in 243 Winchester.
This is an early version that features the "Flat Bolt" with the serial number of 70-20110 which tells us it was manufactured in 1970. This rifle came into existence after years of engineering, testing and obtaining patents when Ruger announced the M77 in 1968. The early M77s are fitted with a flat bolt handle that came at the request of Mr. Ruger and has a very unique swept S-shape. Ruger also sourced the barrels for these early rifles from Douglas until 1973. The rifle wears a 22 inch barrel that has an excellent bore with no issues. The original bluing on the barrel, receiver and floor plate are in very fine condition as you can see. There are a rough spot at the top of the barrel at the muzzle. The stock is solid with no chips, cracks or repairs and wears the original Ruger red pad. It does have a few marks and light compression dings from use. All of the checkering panels are in excellent condition as you can see in the pictures. It wears the original scope rings with a Weaver K4 – 4X scope mounted in them. It is clear and clean with duplex crosshairs. Overall this is an excellent example of an early M77 Flat Bolt.
