L.C. Smith Salesman’s Cutaway showing rotary bolting mechanism. Good condition. In addition to the section of the action that has been "cutaway" to show internal workings parts, the right side is nicely engraved "L.C. Smith/Showing Mechinesm/ Hunter Arms Company/ Fulton, NY". Only a few of these are known. Many of the American gunmakers of the period made salesman’s models showing the internal workings of the firearm’s internal parts. They were made short enough to be carried in a suitcase. This unique example will make a fine addition to your L.C. Smith collection. (This is not a functional firearm)
