This is an absolutely gorgeous Colt 1849 Pocket with the desirable 6” barrel. This Colt features a unique silver gilt finish. The way this Colt was finished is very interesting, very few, possibly this being the only of its type were manufactured with this type of finish. This example also has the “Colts Patent” marking on the frame factory engraved. This Colt was part of Samuel Colts personal collection and eventually the Colt Factory collection. The pedigree is featured in the booklet of documentation that accompanies this revolver. It was in Colts personal cabinet in his office in the case on the lower right shelf. Its amazing to think that your holding and admiring something that Samuel Colt actually held and admired also. This is truly an honor to own one of Samuel Colts personal guns. Not to many can say that they’ve owned one or do own one! 99% all of the original finish remains. Excellent, mint grips. Mechanically excellent. A true stunner and collection definer.
