1930s Belgian “TEXAS RANGER” Double Action .38 COLT SPECIAL C&R Revolver
With Vintage Gun Leather!
Here we present a Belgian “Texas Ranger” Double Action .38 Colt Special Revolver made circa the 1930s in Liege. The Texas Ranger revolver is thought to be a Belgium copy of the Spanish EIBAR Model 1929 revolver. There is no absolute data on who made the “pirate copies”. During the 1930s stamping on firearms was not mandatory in Belgium, which made it very easy to make lesser quality firearms as compared to the name brands such as Colt and Smith & Wesson. During this era, there were literally hundreds of small workshops producing these types of handguns. Because of this, finding the original maker is highly unlikely.
The overall condition is very good. The bore is bright and in good shape. Both grips are in great shape and remain solid. Original finish. The cylinder is liege proofed, and “Made in Belgium” can be read on the bottom of the grip strap. “TEXAS RANGER” is on the left side of the barrel. This example comes with a handmade tooled holster from the period. This is a neat cowboy revolver from Europe!
