Description:
"Made in 1918. 32-20 caliber with a 24" barrel. This is truly a beautiful example of a factory engraved Winchester 1892 Rifle which is finished in a style 6 engraving pattern and pattern and a style H checkering pattern. Metal is very fine. The barrel has a very high quality refinish. The frame is all original. Engraving is nice and sharp with a big horn ram on the left hand side in a vignette surrounded by tight deluxe scrolls. The right hand side has a vignette of Elk. There is even light scrolls on the barrel where the barrel and frame meet. Wood is deluxe and in very good condition. There are normal carrying and handling wear. Action works perfectly. Bore is excellent. This gun is very similar to one pictured in the book Winchester Engraving by R. L. Wilson. On page 256. There are also fairly close in serial number, our gun being serial number 870419 and the gun in the book 881840. Because this gun is a later serial number, there are no factory records available. On Winchester 1892s, guns after serial number 330,000 do not have any other information available on them except the date. Absolutely beautiful gun!
