MARLIN Model 1897 iconic rim fire .22 caliber lever action rifle made in 1905 or 1906 (serial #309488). (See picture of patent dates). About 10% of case hardening remains with about 30% of bluing remaining, borderline patina. The bore has good rifling but needs a good scrubbing. This rifle has a 24" octagonal barrel, open sights, factory butt plate (with crack, see photo), tube feed magazine w/19 round long rifle capacity, shoots good and functions perfectly. ( also shoots longs and shorts). The walnut stock/forearm is in really good condition with typical dings and scratches. (see photos). This is a really good, all original specimen of a legendary American rim fire rifle. The price is $1500 including FedEx shipping to your FFL dealer in your area.
