PRE-WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 or M-1 GAS TRAP GARAND .30-06 RIFLE VERY EARLY PRODUCTION (5 DIGIT S/N) DATE NOVEMBER 1939.Rebuilt original M1 gas trap serial numbered in the 21,xxx range. Original stock, handguard and forend. New commercial unmarked barrel and gas trap. Balance of parts original post gas trap replacements and commercial replacements although does still have two piece flat/square "keystone" spring. Very good overall with all the later Parkerizing. Wood with the lightly worn original finish and good encircled “P” proof on inside of pistol grip and "SA" in rectangle on left side. Working order and excellent bore. Fun to have an early config pre-War Garand with low serial number and "gas trap" apparatus that you can shoot.
