Description: General Specs: Colt, Year 1940, .22LR, 28.3oz Serial Number: 139561 The Colt Woodsman originally designed by John Moses Browning for Colt was introduced in 1915 to the Colt family of defense guns as a rimfire target pistol and considered to be the most accurate .22 caliber production pistol ever made. The Woodsman came with an easy .22 self-loader, a European-style heel release, and large trigger guard to accommodate a gloved finger. This gun was pitched as a farmer, rancher or woodsman’s companion, but soon became a darling of shooting enthusiasts for it’s simplicity and accuracy. Here we have a third model Colt First Series Woodsman, pre-World War II, characterized by a skinny match barrel, adjustable sights, and patent numbers and dates 1903, 1918 roll marking. And it comes with a beautifully worn Red Head Brand fitted leather holster. Channel your inner woodsman and get this gun! You’ll surely have fun with this one.
