"Made in 1870s. 44 Caliber (most likely a 44-77) with a 30" octagon barrel. This is a reasonably sharp gun with a heavy barrel marked on the bottom with “44???GES" the middle part being obscured by a pewter dovetail. Metal has an even brown patina on metal!
