Another fine “ESTATE” firearm offered by Dust 2 Dollars. We offer you a Savage Arms Model 99G Take-Down rifle that was manufactured in 1929 with all matching numbers and an excellent bore.
The serial number on the rifle is 317883 and the forearm, barrel, butt stock and butt plate all having the matching number. This makes our rifle an all numbers matching 92 year old gun. The front of the lever boss is marked “K”. The left side of the barrel is marked “.300 savage” followed by "SP" in an oval. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY SAVAGE - SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION / UTICA, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.”. The top of the receiver ring is marked “SAVAGE / MODEL 99”. The underside of the receiver is marked 317883. The underside of the barrel is marked with a small triangle, 883. The forearm wood is marked “317883” as is the butt stock and plate. The front sight blade and rear barrel sight have been replaced at some point. It wears a Lyman model 30 ½ windage adjustable tang sight as shown. The forearm is in very fine condition as you can see. The butt stock has marks and dings with some small cracks at the tang. There has also been a repair done at the toe that was completed by a skilled hand. The 24” barrel has an excellent bore with no issues and shows some rough spots and freckling on the finish. The receiver has very little finish remaining as shown in the pictures. The lever shows some case coloring remaining and wear. The number matching butt plate has pitting and rust as pictured. SALE PENDING!
