<<<SOLD>>> An interesting Springfield Armory 1881 trapdoor rifle chambered for the potent .45-70 caliber, with a 32 1/2" lomg barrel with clean , shiny rifled bore better than most I've seen.The exterior metal is dark blue andnsome oxidatin from age but complete color. The American walnut hardwood stock is good with dings from field use, and a double stamped cartouche' of 1889?. Action is tight, and has the rear 1884 Buffington sight, and the 1873 cleaning rod . A good example, with the front barrel band being the correct stacking swivel. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
