Description:
This is a very nice 1970's vintage SKB Model 600 Skeet Grade Combo Set with a fitted case imported by Ithaca in the 1970's. This 3 gauge set comes with 20, 28, and .410 gauge barrels all 28" inches long, serial-numbered to the receiver, and choked Skeet / Skeet. The 20 and 28 gauge barrels have 2.75" inch chambers and the .410 gauge barrel set has 2.5" inch chambers. All three sets of barrels have a Ivory bead front sight and a silver mid-bead. This handsome over and under shotgun features a factory engraved silver receiver, blued barrels, and a gold-finished single-selectable trigger. The stock set is hand-checkered Walnut with a black pistol grip cap and the buttstock is fitted with a KickEzz recoil pad and a brass initial plaque on the keel. The length of pull is 14.25" inches to the end of the pad. The Model 600 has a tang mounted safety and automatic ejectors, and is well-known for it's strong crossbolt-lock design and excellent reliability. This particular example has been used, but well-cared for. The factory blue finish on all three barrel sets is in great shape, rating 95% plus. All 3 sets of barrels have perfect bores with no pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind. They are all bright and clean. The silver receiver is in great condition overall, showing only some very minor handling marks and a little speckling that is only visible if you hold it at a certain angle in bright light. The gold finish on the trigger is still in great shape as well, rating 95% plus. The original stock set on this Ithaca SKB is in very good condition, free from any cracks, repairs, or major dings or damage. The checkered panels show some wear but are still very handsome and provide a nice contrast to the light color of the wood. The recoil pad is in excellent shape and is perfectly fit to the buttstock, and the black pistol grip cap and white spacer is tight to the wood. The mechanics of this SKB are excellent. All 3 barrel sets lock up tight and are perfectly "on face", the forearm fits snugly to each set, and all three sets have functional automatic ejectors. All of the controls on this shotgun are in perfect working order, and we have no doubt that it will function 100% like it did the day it left the factory. As mentioned before, this Model 600 Skeet Grade Combo Set comes complete with the original fitted luggage case which is in good shape as well. If you have been looking for a 3 gauge set over and under shotgun that would not only be the perfect skeet shooting gun but also a great dove or quail gun, this vintage Ithaca SKB would be a superb choice.
