Selling a rarer than most Savage 1899 rifles, a 38/55 Winchester caliber in the early 1904 model A , 26" round barreled rifle. This rifle retains at least 75 % of it original blue and some case colors are present on lever. serial number 40.311
I've only owned a couple Savages in the 38/55 and this is the nicest one . It has the blade front sight and the open leaf rear that I suppose came on it. The wood looks like a previous owner covered it with something, not varnish , looks beautiful , no cracks or dents. Numbers match . I am not a dealer, simply selling off many of my rifles that I aquired over a life time.
