"Made pre-1899. 44 Russian caliber with a 6" barrel. This is a nice sharp gun with blue in protected areas. This is a very sharp gun that really shows minimal wear on the metal, it just lacks finish. Engraving is nice and sharp. Grips show handling wear. Gun is all matching. Action works perfectly and locks up tight. This gun has the serial number “0" on the butt. This gun comes with a factory letter which explains these guns that are serial numbered “0" were “club guns" and were frequently given to shooting clubs to test the guns. These were very well made guns as these were basically a dealer sample to show off the Smith & Wesson line. Very scarce Factory engraved exhibition gun!
