Description:
#5003 Colt S/A, 4-3/4”x45COLT, 118XXX (made in 1886) and having a G-VG bore (about a 6-7 on a scale of 10 with some lead build-up and medium to heay wear to the rifling). Very tight lock-up in fine tune with all the “clicks” on the hammer. Very good smooth metal with only a blotch of light to medium pitting on the topstrap over the cylinder and otherwise a dark plum brown patina, fine screw heads, correct two-line barrel address, matching numbers, and somewhat worn (or lightly struck) frame patent markings. The one-piece wood grips have virtually no wear at all and while they fit just about perfectly and look fine on this revolver, in my opinion they probably have been replaced at some not-too-distant point in this Colts long 135 year life. Overall, a very handsome little short-barreled .45 in well above average condition. About VG+ as described. $3250
