One of a kind and rare 17 Ackley Hornet! Here is a rare custom made rifle from the Cooper Custom Shop. It was built on the now discontinued Model 38 action. Cooper streamlined operations and sadly no longer produces the Model 38 action which was absolutely perfect for the smaller varmint calibers such as this one in 17 Ackley Hornet. This rifle hasn't been fired since leaving the Cooper Custom Shop and is a pampered safe queen. This is the only Varmint Extreme model that I have ever seen with a rust blued heavy varmint contour barrel. Additionally, this is the only example of a Cooper Montana Varmint Extreme that I have seen with case colored receiver, trigger, bolt shroud and bottom metal. It has a very fine checkering pattern that I would guess to be 24 LPI or more. Beautifully executed and very fine checkering on the grip and inside the skeleton grip cap. Rifle has AAA+ wood, three panel checkered bolt handle and has been crafted with inletted sling studs. One of a kind rifle.
