REVOLUTIONARY WAR ERA FRENCH FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL SIGNED LA CAILLE CA. 1770’S. 16” o/a with 9 ½” round .60 caliber smoothbore barrel. Lock signed forward of the hammer “LA CAILLE”. Walnut stock and engraved brass mounts including a very nicely formed full side plate and engraved brass barrel shroud. Other than the nicely aged replacement ramrod it is all original including all the lock parts. Dark original metal patina and has the original patinated finish on the stock. Stock with minor age cracks. Hammer screw original but head missing. Trigger guard repaired at forward bow. Lock does not hold on cock. Jacques Lacaille was the founder of a family of makers from the town of Blois in northern central France.
