About Us: I have had great luck in my sales through "GUNS INTERNATIONAL". This is the only site I use and do not plan to change.

Description:
This is a conversion of the Civil War Springfield Musket for the 58 Caliber centerfire Cartridge. The bore of this gun is smooth indicating that it was made into a foragers gun. It will accept 20 gauge cartridges, but it is not recommended for modern ammunition. Thes guns were originally converted in civilian shops and were used by some militias units in New Jersey, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.  The English designed breech swings to the right side of the gun for loading and unloading of the ammunition. It has a 37 inch barrel and a Springfield 1864 lock. It retains the original Springfield sights. The wood is sound with the usual dings and scratches for a 150+ year old gun.  There were a total of 5020 of these Springfields converted by this method.
This is an antique so no paperwork is required.
