Description:
A good sound Spencer Civil War Carbine. Approximately 50,000 of these guns were manufactured. This has the serial number of 43XXX. These guns were made c1863-1865. They used a 52 caliber rim fire cartridge that was called the 56-56. Go figure. It has a six grove 22 inch barrel. The wood is sound and may have been refinish in the past. The metal has been refinished. The gun is mechanically sound and functions as designed. The bore is oxidized and has very strong rifling. The magazine is in the stock. It is pictured below the gun in one of the photos. A very good representation of a Civil War Carbine. Antique, so no paperwork is required.
