Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are sure proud to offer this scarce example of Winchester's model 1876, the Centennial Rifle. This is the last of the Winchester inhouse lever action design. It was simply a larger framed version of the 1873, chambered in larger and more powerful cartridges. This special order gun boasts a 30 inch half octagonal, half round barrel, and a set trigger. All this is verified in a Cody Museum letter. Made in the year of our Lord 1881, she is in great condition for being 140 years old. The walnut fits well to the steel, with light handling marks and a tight crack in the forend. The original blue has drifted to patina, thinning in some areas. The stampings are fairly sharp and clear, and the action is smooth and crisp. The bore of that long barrel has plenty of shine and strong rifling. Even the five piece cleaning rods are present. She is fitted with the 1876 ladder sight, and is chambered in the potent 45-60 WCF. These big Winchesters are in real demand, as their production numbers are relatively low and many saw hard frontier use. If you have been in the market for the right '76, but want the extra clout of a special order gun in good condition, then look no further.
