Description:
Peter Noreen .416 Rigby built on his proprietary Noreen true magnum length control round feed action. Features a 24" barrel with hooded banded ramp front sight, banded sling swivel stud, and quarter rib with single standing leaf with gold center line. Bore is excellent. The Noreen magnum action features a checkered bolt release, Canjar adjustable trigger with checkered side safety, and drop box bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Topped with a Swarovski 1.5 x 4.5 x 20 scope with three heavy posts and fine crosshairs in claw mounts. Stocked in an excellent piece of Turkish walnut with darkly contrasting marble cake lines, 26 LPI point pattern checkering with mullered border that wraps the forend, ebony forend tip. pancake shadow line cheekpiece, and engraved forward crossbolt and pistol grip cap. LOP is 14/12" over a Silver's pad. 10lb 12oz as scoped.   Mr. Noreen is a talented craftsman and gunmaker. He sold his superb proprietary action to Waffenfabrik Hein which subsequently went out of business. He has since left the world of fine wlnut and blued steel to join the Dark Side building large bore rifles on the AR platform with his son. This piece has been to Africa and tasted buffalo. It does have some dents and dings from field use. Blue remains at 98%, stock finish at 95% and checkering at 99%   This is excellent quality and value in a true and outstanding magnum length action.
