Spanish-American War Revolver!
Here we present an antique U.S. Colt Model 1894 New Army Revolver manufactured in 1895 in Hartford, Connecticut and chambered in .38 Long Colt. The New Model line of revolvers represented the U.S. military’s first double action revolver with swing out cylinders. These revolvers would be veterans of the Spanish-American War and Philippine-American War. This one features a government inspector mark of “R.A.C.” for Ordnance Inspector Rinaldo A. Carr on the frame. These revolvers were upgraded and kept running by the U.S. armories and were used as late as World War I.
The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The action is strong and tight all the way around. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling. Both grips are in good condition with expected handling wear. The numbers match. This is a fantastic example of a scarce and relatively short-lived Colt Army revolver!
