Description:
Listed is an original converted colt police or Pocket Navy revolver with almost a full box of antique 38 center fire is included.
This pistol was produced in about 1872 utilizing un numbered colt parts from the 1849 pocket and the 1862 police and navy revolvers.These newly made revolvers are described in the book Variations of Colt,s New Model Police and Pocket Breech Loading Pistols. This gun has none of the original finish left as it was cleaned at some point in its life. It is all matching number's of 1162. Several of the screws appear to be replacements. The action is tight and functions as it should. The gun has light pitting in places as can be seen in the photos.
The bore is fair to good with light pitting. Barrel length is about 4 1/2 inches. According to the book this one of about 3,075 made in this model. It is a 38 rimfire.
