This may be a one of a kind but certainly VERY rare configuration. It is for the advanced 1892 44-40 collector who must own a variation he probably never even seen. I have had a couple of carbine 92 44s that had crescent butt plates but never ¾ mag AND crescent butt. It is original and mechanically perfect including bore. The finish is well worn - used but nt abused - with fair amount of bluing left. Even a few traces of case. 723XXX range which makes 1913 and well over a century old. IT IS AN ANTIQUE. Definition of " ANTIQUE" in ANY accredited dictionary is an item at least 100 years old PERIOD ! An 'ANTIQUE" is NOT something made before 1899. Today an antique is something made before 1921 The BATF shoud NOT resort to TRASHING ur English language OR didtorting our Constitutional rights . Educated collectors shoud be OFFENDED at being told FALSE information. It confses our children in their schooling trying to learn facts. IT IS WRONG! It is an ‘Eastern carbine’ so no saddle ring. I just bought it some 30 years ago because nobody else had one like it. Show me another 1892 44-40 with these unusual factory dpecial order options and i will beat that price.
